October 10th, 2026 11:00-6:00 PM.

Join Rafael Amir and Hannah Williams for their inaugural yoga & sound healing retreat in the beautiful redwoods of the Oakland hills.

Set beside Redwood Regional Park, this event is something of a homecoming. Hannah opens the door of her childhood house to you, her now-chosen family, inviting you to take a seat at the table and hold space for true wellness and connection.

Begin in a grounding circle, settling into the present moment and establishing our intention to listen — to ourselves, to each other, and to the land we call home. From there, we'll flow into a yoga class, moving through the full arc of the body with time for strength, ease, and rest.

After class, choose to rest and let the practice settle, or join the group for a hike through Redwood Regional Park. Together we'll walk beneath the ancient trees, explore themes of the forest's natural life cycle, and listen to what the land has to say. Find your roots within the forest.

We'll return home & integrate it all with a full sound bath & breath work meditation.

And because coming home always means gathering at the table, we'll close with a homemade, family-style dinner.

This is our first retreat, held in the Oakland hills, right beside Redwood Regional Park. We can't think of a better place to welcome you home to yourself.

What's included: Flow & Restore yoga · Guided redwood hike · Sound bath & breath work meditation · Nourishing, family-style dinner

Guided By

Rafael Amar

Rafael Amar’s yoga and meditation journey began in 2013 after he served as a combat soldier. Yoga and meditation provided tools to deal with the difficult emotions he experienced during his tours as a soldier in the middle east and various refugee camps.

In 2020, he completed studies to become an emergency room nurse and worked at a busy downtown hospital in New Mexico during the pandemic. After 3 years working in the hospital,  Rafael left nursing due to burnout and compassion fatigue.  He set off to India and completed a 500 hour yoga teacher training across multiple yoga schools.

He currently works part time as a nurse in San Francisco and teaches meditation in small group settings to primarily nurses and veterans helping them process complex emotions through breathe work.

Hannah Williams

This retreat is something of a homecoming for Hannah. Born and raised in Oakland, she has found that her deepest teaching happens in wild places, where she hopes to hold space for connection — softening the boundaries between self, community, and earth.

A trauma-informed, Accessible Yoga certified instructor, Hannah believes true wellness belongs to everyone. She creates inclusive spaces where students can explore the practice at their own pace, bridging mind, body, and spirit along the way.

Hannah came to the mat in 2018 through her own somatic healing journey. She brings a background in political research and activism to her current work, which spans her platform Activate: Home for the Political Yogi, management of Purusha Yoga & Pilates SF, mentorship with incarcerated youth through the Art of Yoga Project, partnerships with community hubs, and one-on-one support— each an invitation for connection, wherever someone happens to be.

The Experience

Taking Root with the Redwoods

Walk into the forest and take stock of what you notice— the soft light filtering through the trees, the song of birds, the call of the wind, the steady rhythm of a living world

Like the Redwood, we all have roots,
We carry our ancestry with the promise of our future
For generations, we hold ourselves and each other up

Take courage from the forest.

Honor the cycle of life in an asana practice built to mirror the full arc of the body: our life, our death, our rebirth.

There will be time to speak,
And more time to listen.
Time to turn inward, to the power of breathe.

And rest, to the healing vibrancy of a sound bath.

Together, we’ll journey Home.

Curious if this is the retreat for you? We'd love to hear from you — let's connect.
